CineKink is taking an eggnog-laden hiatus this week, but here are a few worthy events to break up the holiday preparations...
SON OF REVENGE OF 'S/M AT THE MOVIES' (NYC)
The inimitable Thor Stockman is back (!!!) with still yet another entertaining look at how S/M and leathermen are portrayed in the movies. This latest collection includes all-new selections from some recent releases, and from films not available on VHS or DVD in the past or otherwise overlooked. Come enjoy a fun-filled program of S/M film and free refreshments! Taking place Saturday, December 10th, 5-8 pm at the LGBT Center, 208 West 13th Street, between 7th & 8th Ave; $10 members of GMSMA, LSM, TES or other S/M groups, $15 non-members. ANTHOLOGY FILM ARCHIVES - 35TH ANNIVERSARY! (NYC)
Altoids helps celebrate Anthology Film Archives' 35 years of preserving and exhibiting curiously strong cinema with 'In the Tin,' a free-to-the-public weekend festival featuring note-worthy films from the Essential Cinema Collection, selected and hosted by well-known film aficionados Peter Boganovich, Patti Smith and Christine Vachon. The festival runs December 9-11th, with a cocktail reception at 6:30 pm on Friday and free first-come film screenings at 8 pm each evening. 'THE VULNERABLE MAN' (NYC)
A select group showing in a beautiful new space, KFMK Galleries presents 'The Vulnerable Man,' featuring works by artists Walter Barnes, Dax, Brian McCormick, Barbara Nitke, Ian Rogers, Santiago and Steve Speliotis. The show kicks off with a cocktail reception on Thursday, December 15th from 6-10 PM and continues with both public and by-appointment hours through Friday January 6th.
