1) TONIGHT: SHORTBUS AND NEW YORK STORIES
Come out for an NYC double-header on Wednesday, February 27, as SHORTBUS and "New York Stories" pair up for a rousing start to this year's film screenings at CineKink NYC.
** Wednesday, February 27th - 7:00 pm
Normally we hold off until the end of the festival to announce the recipient of our annual CineKink Tribute, an award that recognizes "the extraordinary depiction of kink in mainstream film and television." But this go-round the first choice was so obvious, we figured we might as well jump in right away with the accolades!
CineKink Tribute!
SHORTBUS
Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, 2006, USA, 106 minutes
With humor, compassion and a frank approach, explores the lives of several characters as they navigate the comic and tragic intersections between sex and love. A sex therapist who has never had an orgasm, a dominatrix who is unable to connect, a gay couple who are deciding whether to open up their relationship, and the people who weave in and out of their lives, all converge on a weekly gathering at an underground salon - a joyful nexus of art, music, politics and polysexual carnality. (Starring Sook-Yin Lee, Paul Dawson, Lindsay Beamish, PJ DeBoy, Raphael Barker, Jay Brannan, Peter Stickles and Justin Bond. Print courtesy of ThinkFilm.)

TEAT BEAT OF SEX

** Wednesday, February 27th - 9:30 pm
"New York Stories"
Starting first with a fresh look at a cinematic classic from adult auteur Radley Metzger, this sampling of recent offerings from NYC-based directors working in adult entertainment today includes clips from Audacia Ray, Candida Royalle, Venus Hottentot, Tony DiMarco/Michael Lucas and Porno Jim.
BARBARA BROADCAST
Radley Metzger, 1977, USA, 12-minute excerpt.
In this classic offering from NYC's original adult auteur, Radley Metzger, a reporter is in hot pursuit of a hot scoop - the life story of world-famous sex expert, Barbara Broadcast!
THE BI APPLE
Audacia Ray, 2007, USA, 18-minute excerpt.
A directorial debut from NYC sex writer/blogger Audacia Ray, this is the steamy saga of a young sex researcher who ventures to the city to study a group of bed-hopping bisexuals, but - surprise! - runs into hard times trying to maintain an observer's objectivity.
UNDER THE COVERS
Candida Royalle, 2007, USA, 16-minute excerpt.
Candida Royalle's pioneering Femme Productions was founded in 1980 to make erotica intended primarily for women. This outing is a comic look at women who live and work in the sex industry, following an intrepid TV personality as she puts together a special report on women who have changed how we view sex today.
AFRODITE SUPERSTAR
Venus Hottentot, 2007, USA, 12-minute excerpt.
From Femme Chocolate, a new division of Candida Royalle's company, young director Venus Hottentot gives us the story of unintended superstar, AfroDite, whose brush with the mogul's mogul of hip hop catapults her into a world of fame and riches - where just one or two critical things may be lacking.
THE INTERN
Michael Lucas & Tony DiMarco, 2007, USA, 17 minute excerpt.
From Lucas Entertainment, NYC's premiere gay adult entertainment company, while the new intern, Benny, just manages to make his way through the offices of Trojan Studios, his co-workers soon discover he may have a "bigger" talent in his pants.
HOOKIN' UP
Porno Jim, 2007, USA, 26-minute excerpt.
For years, NYC's Porno Jim has been reviewing - and often skewering - the best and the worst from the adult entertainment industry. Now he's put his money where his mouth is, inviting us all to join in on the action at the hottest of all hot Brooklyn loft parties. DUMBO anyone?
Filmmakers Tony DiMarco, Porno Jim and Audacia Ray will all be on hand following for a brief Q&A!

2) THURSDAY @ CINEKINK: HEY, KIDS – IT’S EXPLOITATION NIGHT!
First up on Thursday, at 7:00 pm, it’s TRIPLE X SELECTS: THE BEST OF LEZSPLOITATION, an international feast of lesbian-exploitation highlights from the 1960s and '70s, presented in all of their notoriously twisted glory. Accented by music reflecting the era and featuring a wacked-out scientific commentary, a compilation of selections from over twenty films brings together and re-appropriates Swedish wildcats, Italian lesbionic nuns, frisky inmates in South American prisons, Euro vampires - and a vast assortment of other Sapphic grindhouse frolics. Plays with the kinky shorts PILLOW GIRL and HIGHWAY AMAZON, along with the world premiere of three-time-CineKink alum T. Arthur Cottam’s DIRTY WORDS: THE LETTER C!

Then, at 9 PM, it’s VIVA, the sordid tale of a bored housewife who gets swept up in the sexual revolution, a highly stylized film that draws on classic exploitation cinema for its look, characters and story-line. Saturated to the hilt with vibrant color and exquisitely detailed in its depiction of the period and the genre, it follows the adventures of Barbi who, abandoned by her perfect Ken-doll husband, is dragged out on the town and into trouble by her "women's lib"-spouting girlfriend. An innocent in a sea of wolves, Barbi becomes "Viva" and quickly learns a lot more than she ever thought she wanted to know about the wild 1970s - nudists, swingers, hippies, orgies and lesbians - oh, my!
