1) HEY, AMSTERDAM!
The action already commenced last night, but for those of you fortunate enough to find yourself in Amsterdam this weekend--or with the wherewithal to grab a last-minute red-eye across the Atlantic--be sure to drop in for the cinematic antics at Rated_X!
More tongue-twistingly known as the Amsterdam Alternative Erotica Film Festival, the event promises "big-screen sexuality coming from a myriad of different angles and artistic perspectives." We'll be mixing it up--at least on that big screen--with "Kinky Bits," a program curated by CineKink's Lisa Vandever and featuring such favorites as 'Anonymity,' 'Coming Out Spanko,' 'Namaha Man', 'guy101,' 'Hitchcocked,' 'Who's The Top?' and 'Married with Children,' screening on Sunday.
Also around for the festivities will be Maria Beatty and Tony Comstock, each of whom will be enjoying a retrospective moment in the spotlight, along with a veritable reunion of other CineKink alumni--past and, we certainly hope, future!

We're currently accepting nominations for the annual CineKink Tribute, an award that honors outstanding depictions of kink and sex-positivity in mainstream film and television. And we'd like to know what you think!

3) A FEW GOINGS-ON...
We’re still keeping solitary (but happy!) company with a big bin of film and video submissions for CineKink NYC/2009, but that's no reason you shouldn't get out and enjoy a bit of sex-positive culture in the meantime! Here are several lovely possibilities:
*THE EDUCATION OF SHELBY KNOX (NYC)
Screening as part of the Stranger Than Fiction series, this documentary portrays the political awakening of a young Texas teenager who takes a pledge of "No Sex Before Marriage," but begins to question the efficacy of the abstinence movement and turns into a full-fledged activist against it.

*ASHLEY AND KISHA: FINDING THE RIGHT FIT (NYC)
CineKink alum Tony Comstock screens a work from his ground-breaking (and hot!) documentary series about the passions of real life lovers, this time with the story of Ashley and Kisha, two women who seemed destined not to be together. Friday, January 23; reception/6:30 PM; program/7:30 PM.

*WAITING FOR THE SHOW and XY/T (NYC)
Two plays for the price of one! WAITING FOR THE SHOW imagines if Beckett staged Marat-Sade and cast all the roles with amourous lesbians, while XY(T) asks the question "Do you have the balls to become a man?" Running weekends through January 31. More info: http://www.woowcafe.org
