CineKink Brings Kinky Film Festival to Chicago
November 18-19, 2011

CineKink — “the kinky film festival” — brings its annual, national tour back to Chicago for a hot, two-night stand, November 18-19, 2011.

With screenings at the Leather Archives & Museum, CINEKINK: CHICAGO will offer a specially-curated program of films and videos that celebrate and explore a wide and exciting world of sexual diversity, with works ranging from documentary to drama, comedy to experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit – and everything in between.

FRIDAY
The festivities commence on Friday, November 18th at 8 pm with BEST OF CINEKINK/2011, featuring select, award-winning shorts deemed the year’s best of the festival, with an opening reception for CineKink: Chicago to immediately follow the screening.

SATURDAY
On Saturday at 2 pm, it’s KINK CRUSADERS, the festival’s Audience Choice for Best Documentary award-winner, an engaging look at the International Mr. Leather contest, an annual event that draws thousands of men from around the world to compete for a title and a sash.

At 4:00 PM, the shorts program ADVENTURES IN THE SKIN TRADE looks at various nuances when sex, work and money intersect.

At 6:00 PM, PRIDE & PREDILECTIONS is a fun and festive assortment of shorts about sexual orientation, identity and one’s place in the world.

And at 8:00 PM, INDIETRO, winner of the CineKink Audience Choice Award Winner for Best Narrative Feature, unravels the late-night visit of Honey and Nick–two suburban “vanillas”–to the mysterious and sprawling home of George and Martha, the king and queen of kink.

KINK CRUSADERS

A loving profile of the International Mr. Leather contest, an annual event that got its start in the back of a Chicago bar over thirty years ago… and which now draws thousands of men from around the world to compete for a title and a sash. In tracing the history of the contest, the documentary also reveals the many ways that the Leather community, once a small, insular niche, has expanded into the mainstream. And it delves into the aspirations of its contestants, past and present, as they transform their lives through a competition that celebrates not only the art and beauty of masculinity, but also upholds the importance of service and community.

Features interviews with IML’s founder, Chuck Renslow, along with past title-holders Guy Baldwin, Mikel Gerle, David Kloss, Tony Mills, John Pendal and Jeff Tucker.
